"Meaghan brings a deep understanding of housing policy, finance, and the challenges facing our members," said Robin Hughes, President and CEO of HPN. "She has demonstrated a strong commitment to working alongside members to develop solutions that respond to their needs. I'm excited to have her bring that experience and perspective to our executive leadership team as we continue to strengthen the network and advance our work."

McCarthy most recently served as HPN's Vice President, Affordable Housing and Consumer Empowerment, where she led several initiatives, including HUD's Housing Counseling Program, Trauma-Informed Housing, and various philanthropically funded programs. She also led the Equitable Homeownership Collaborative, which drives the Inspire 100 mortgage program in partnership with HPN's Community Development Financial Institution (CDFI) members. Several of these efforts have received national recognition for their innovative approaches to reducing barriers and expanding access to homeownership and wealth building.

"HPN's strength comes from its members and their willingness to share what they're learning and work together to address challenges," said Deidre Schmidt, Chair of HPN's Board of Directors and President and CEO of CommonBond Communities. "Meaghan understands the importance of those relationships and brings valuable experience in helping organizations work toward shared goals. Her leadership will be an asset to the network as we continue to build on that spirit of collaboration."

Her experience includes federal budget and housing policy, affordable housing finance, and coalition building.

Building on her experience in housing policy and work with HPN members, McCarthy shared, "Throughout my career, I have had the opportunity to work with a diverse range of stakeholders to advance affordable housing solutions informed by practitioners and centered on the needs of people and communities. I’m thrilled to continue that work in this new role, partnering with HPN’s network to address housing needs across the country."

Meaghan’s experience working across organizations and policy priorities will inform her leadership of HPN's network engagement and housing solutions work, with an emphasis on strengthening connections among members and supporting collaborative approaches to affordable housing challenges.
