Deborah Momsen-Hudson

Deborah Momsen-Hudson is HPN’s Director of Lending, working with the Housing Partnership Fund and the Lending and Investments team to direct capital to HPN’s members. She brings more than 20 years of experience in community development finance, with expertise in affordable housing and secondary market activities. Her career spans leadership roles at a large CDFI (Self-Help Credit Union), a GSE (Fannie Mae), and a top 20 bank (First Citizens Bank).

Deborah’s background includes loan purchases and sales, credit analysis, pricing and risk assessment, and capitalization strategy. She also has extensive experience in financial and impact analysis, reporting to senior leadership, strategic planning, CRA product development, and team management.

At Self-Help Credit Union, she led the organization’s flagship homeownership program, adding $2 billion in assets to the balance sheet through loan purchases and sales. Under her leadership, the $7 billion program helped 75,000 borrowers become homeowners.

Her board service includes the US SIF (The Forum for Sustainable and Responsible Investment), Green America, and the Fannie Mae Regional Advisory Board. She holds a BA in International Studies and Russian from Allegheny College and a Master of Public Administration from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
