About Manna Homes

Over its’ 44-year history, Manna, Inc. has remained committed to the mission of advocating and providing affordable, safe, and sustainable housing as well as creating pathways to homeownership for low-to-moderate-income households. Manna’s three primary business lines are (1) executing the development of high-quality for sale and rental affordable housing, (2) providing low/no cost homebuyer education, full-cycle housing counseling, and financial capabilities programming through Manna’s HUD-certified counseling agency the Home Ownership Center (HOC), and (3) advocating for public policy solutions that inform affordable housing opportunities and empower residents to become transformative leaders for community change. This has resulted in Manna (1) developing over 2000 units of affordable housing, (2) empowering over 20,658 clients with full-cycle counseling and education services while administering municipal and privately-funded DPA/CC programs targeting the Washington DC and Prince Georges County MD MSA’s , and (3) sustaining non-profit advocacy support in partnership with public and private sector policy interests resulting in the successful passage of the DC Rental Act of 2025 with the goal of creating a more functional and equitable tenant-landlord ecosystem through eviction process changes, targeted tenant protections, and balanced TOPA reforms.
