About Us

The Charlotte-Mecklenburg Housing Partnership (The Housing Partnership) is a broad-based, private, nonprofit housing development and finance corporation. Organized to expand affordable and well-maintained housing within stable neighborhoods for low- and moderate-income families in the City of Charlotte and Mecklenburg County, The Housing Partnership has a continuing interest in the ability of occupants to more fully enter the economic mainstream. Started by a Charlotte city-wide task force in 1986, The Housing Partnership specializes in the revitalization of fragile inner-city neighborhoods, first-time homebuyer education and mortgage preparation, and the development of affordable single- and multi-family housing. The organization has expanded it foreclosure department to serve the large number of residents who are facing foreclosure. As of June 30, 2009 The Housing Partnership has counseled 13,518 families, developed 2,012 apartments, created 1,420 homeowners, and revitalized three neighborhoods. Another 216 housing units are under development.
