Mississippi Housing Partnership was formed in 1992 with the goal of bringing the strengths and resources of the Jackson community together to increase the number of home owners in the city. MHP has made over 400 home-purchase loans to low- and moderate-income families, with a total of $12 million invested in neighborhoods throughout metro Jackson. The organization is also involved in housing rehabilitation, property management, and neighborhood development efforts. In 2006, it changed its name from Jackson Metro Housing Partnership to Mississippi Housing Partnership and expanded its efforts statewide.
