The North Carolina Community Development Initiative provides financial and technical assistance to the state’s community development corporations. Since its inception in 1994, the Initiative has channeled $39 million in state and private resources to help finance affordable housing and economic development projects. The Initiative provides specialized loans, including gap financing and acquisition funds, makes grants to support special CDC projects, and provides technical assistance in residential and commercial development.
