Established in 1987, Religious Coalition for Community Renewal is a membership organization made up of more than 30 religious interfaith congregations. RCCR has provided home ownership counseling and related services to more than 1,450 low- to moderate-income families, helping more than 410 to become first-time homebuyers. RCCR has also built a 48-unit community for seniors, owns a 29-unit furnished apartment facility for one- and two-person families, and operates a 12-unit transitional housing residence with supportive services for homeless men. RCCR is also part of a collaborative effort called the Eco-Dwell Project, which built an energy-efficient affordable home that serves as a lab for contractors, builders, students and nonprofit groups to learn about energy conservation.
