Founded in 1971, CommonBond Communities has grown to become the largest nonprofit provider of affordable homes with services in the Upper Midwest. For nearly four decades, CommonBond has sponsored the development of 96 unique affordable housing communities in 38 municipalities throughout Minnesota, Wisconsin and Iowa. CommonBond manages 4,600 rental apartments and town homes and operates 49 nationally-recognized Advantage Centers--20 for families and 29 for seniors-- which are technology-based learning centers that provide youth enrichment, family stability, employment, and independent living skills, among other programs. CommonBond serves a total of 7,300 residents--including 2,000 children--with an average household income of just over $13,700.
