Greater Metropolitan Housing Corporation was formed in 1970 by the Minneapolis business community with the primary purpose of improving the availability and quality of affordable housing for low and moderate income families in Greater Minneapolis. GMHC administers a predevelopment revolving loan fund and single family homeownership production program, and operates a home ownership reinvestment program. GMHC’s homeownership program has constructed and/or renovated and sold nearly 1,300 single-family homes in the inner city of Minneapolis.
