The Great Lakes Capital Fund was established in 1993 and now operates in Michigan, Indiana, and Wisconsin. GLCF is an equity fund that invests chiefly in housing created through the Low Income Housing Tax Credit. Beyond equity investment it also provides access to other financial resources and technical assistance. GLCF’s “One Stop Shopping” program enables developers to access permanent debt financing, construction lending, equity investment, technical assistance, and predevelopment loans through a single proposal. GLCF has made equity investments totaling $600 million in 185 developments, producing 10,000 affordable homes.
