Founded in 1969, Settlment Housing Fund has developed 56 projects with 8,700 apartments. Its mission is to create and sustain economically and ethnically diverse affordable housing with neighborhood amenities and community programs. The organization currently owns 44 buildings with 2,200 apartments in the Bronx, Brooklyn, and Manhattan. The newest development is a 23 unit residence for single parent formerly homeless families who stay 2 to 5 years, become self sufficient and then have priority for vacancies in other Settlemnt Housing Fund buildings. Also underway is a new pre-kindergarten through grade 12 public school with a community center and swimming facility near our buildings in the Bronx. Settlement Housing Fund also consults on development and tenant selection.
