Established in 1990, Common Ground Community has become the nation’s largest developer of supportive housing, with a focus on helping the most at-risk of the homeless population and those who have been homeless for the longest periods. Common Ground has completed 1,500 apartments and plans to develop an additional 3,000 by 2014. In addition, Common Ground manages 1,650 apartments, provides a wide variety of supportive services, and owns and operates businesses that provide employment opportunities for tenants and generate income to support programs. Based in New York City, Common Ground also operates in upstate New York and Connecticut.
