Strengthening Communities and Creating Economic Opportunity

The goal of increasing affordable and sustainable homeownership is central to the mission of the Housing Partnership Network and its members. Homeownership anchors neighborhoods and strengthens communities. It is the primary way that lower-income, new immigrant, and minority families build equity for the future.

The Network works hand-in-hand with members to increase resources for affordable homeownership in communities throughout the country. Our Housing Counseling Program provides funding to prepare new buyers for homeownership and to help current homeowners maintain and retain their homes. We also provide funding for targeted anti-predatory lending initiatives and homeownership voucher programs conducted by our members in partnership with local housing authorities. On the supply side, we have created predevelopment and acquisition loans for homeownership development. We are also exploring the creation of a mortgage company that could pool member-originated home mortgage loans.
