Performance Benchmarking

A Positive Impact on Performance and Policy

The Performance Benchmarking Data Warehouse is a pioneering effort to enhance the performance of the affordable housing sector. Using a state-of-the-art web-based technology platform, participating members upload operational and financial information about their organizations and do comparative analyses of their performance against others in the industry.

This initiative is a cooperative of the nation's leading housing nonprofits and peer networks - including the Housing Partnership Network, NeighborWorks America and Stewards of Affordable Housing for the Future (SAHF). Performance benchmarking is part of a more comprehensive STRENGTH MATTERS™ initiative sponsored by the three networks to advance the strength, productivity, and profitability of market-driven nonprofits that balance mission with sound business practices.

The data warehouse allows nonprofits to compare and improve their organization and property performance while promoting best-in-class practices and operational efficiencies. It is also a valuable tool for attracting private capital and developing policy recommendations based on the objective data collected from on-the-ground practitioners.
